
Mona Ying Fang, PhD Student (2024-Current)
PhD Student
Mona received her B.S. degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) with a minor in Bioinformatics from UCLA in 2024. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Immunity, Microbes, and Molecular Pathogenesis (IMMP) Home Area at UCLA. She joined the Yang lab in February of 2022 as an Undergraduate Researcher, then in Fall 2024 as a Ph.D. student. Mona works on engineering iPSCs as an unlimited source to generate next-generation “off-the-shelf” immune cells targeting cancer.
Besides research and classes, Ying enjoys reading, creative writing and grocery shopping.
