Sean Xinyuan Shen, PhD Student (2025-Current)
Rotating MS Student
Sean received his B.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Science from the Zhejiang University in 2023 and his M.S. degree in Bioengineering from UCLA in 2025. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Bioengineering at UCLA. He joined the Yang Lab in Spring of 2025. Sean works on deciphering and harnessing the crosstalk between human mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells and microbiota to develop next-generation immunotherapies for gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, inflammation, autoimmune and other mucosal disorders.
Besides research, Sean enjoys music and camping.
